Recently I traveled to El Salvador for a week long mission trip. This is my second mission trip and I’ve scheduled my third later this year.
The days during this mission trip were filled with service oriented activities. The group was split into two groups, one was working on a new chapel site and the other was helping the senior center. I was at the senior center the entire time. We helped scrape paint off the walls, repaint them, help lay concrete, and level dirt. On Friday we took a pilgrimage to St. Oscar Romero’s martyrdom site. This was such a powerful and moving day. Just hearing the stories of those impacted by the events before during and after his life. This mission trip is one I will never forget!
